About Me

My name is Nicole, and I'm a nationally certified Speech-Language Pathologist (CCC). I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio and think we have some of the best food in the country (Skyline Chili!). I attended Brigham Young University from 2003-2010 and received my Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Communication Disorders. I currently work for Pendergast School District and work mostly with children in Preschool and Kindergarten. When I am not conquering speech and language disorders, I can be found teaching Zumba classes at the gym! I have provided therapy in a variety of settings including rehab, hospitals, private clinics, home care, schools and a home for adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders. I also own a private practice and have greatly enjoyed getting to work with my clients as well as their families in this type of home-based therapy setting. I have worked with numerous clients of various ages who have blessed my life and taught me many things. My hope is that I can help them as much as they have helped me.

One of the keys to a child's success is what is done at home. We teach children the necessary speech and language skills in speech therapy sessions, but those skills need to be reinforced at home. I strongly encourage the parents of all of my speech kiddos to work on speech at home for at least a few minutes each day. I hope that my blog will help give parents ideas and opportunities to help their child practice at home and that both parent and child can benefit from these interactions. And most of all... that you and your child HAVE FUN!
